Pietree Orchard: A Western Maine Gem

Pietree Orchard Store

This months Greater Bridgton Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce after hours event was hosted by Pietree Orchard in Sweden, Maine.
Attending our chambers after hours this month was my first opportunity to sample many for the tasty products that Pietree presents with a simple but elegant flair. With 48 different varieties of apples plus peach, a planned grove of cherry trees and the addition of their own maple syrup next year, self proclaimed 'business monkey' (she told me she monkeys with the business) Naomi King has something good going in Western Maine!

From their web siteTabitha King is the Proprietor of Pietree Orchards. Her vision for great local food and healthy local community guides all of us working at Pietree.
One of eight children, she was born and raised in Maine. Her mother's garden helped feed the family all year round. Her father's family owned and operated Spruce's General Store in Milford, Maine for three generations.
Tabitha is the author of eight novels, a philanthropist, and a social activist. She and her husband, Stephen, also own radio stations in Bangor, Maine . Tabitha currently serves on the board of the Bangor Public Library.
Tabitha is also an ardent wild mushroom hunter, quiet water kayaker, and daylily grower.
If you are looking for a destination that is welcoming and a fine example of sustainability, Pietree Orchard is your place.

Good food & good company

All of us in the chamber had a great time and the food was absolutely superb!

Thank you Tabitha, Naomi and your great staff!
