What does the Fryeburg Business Association do?
We follow our mission statement to promote a positive business environment that contributes to the community and economic vitality of the Fryeburg area.
Here is a list of FBA accomplishments through December 2012:
• Set up the organization of the FBA with PO Box, Telephone, Website, Bylaws, Committees, Guidelines, Domestic not-for-profit, and applied for 501(c)(6) non-profit status
• Internet exposure with FBA web site; link to own business website or create your web page through FBA web site
• Social media marketing opportunities via FBA Facebook, Twitter accounts
• Provide business networking for FBA memberships with the Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Lakes Region of Chamber of Commerce, and Maine Tourism Association; member of the Fryeburg Historical Society
• Work directly with Western Maine Economic Council & Western Maine Economic Council
• Liaison with Town of Fryeburg
• Active with Rt. 113 Corridor Commission
• Distribution of the Economic Development Survey for Fryeburg
• Partners in the Fryeburg Regional Educational Network (FREN); hosted community discussion
• Spearheaded efforts to revitalize Main Street
• Coverage of Fryeburg in tourism magazines
• Created business socials sponsored by our member businesses
• Sponsor business marketing with advertising, email messaging for events, press releases, and grand openings PR as requested
• Sale of Fryeburg Then and Now Book with calendars, photos, stories, FBA business listings created by Donna Woodward along with help and marketing from the Fryeburg Business Association
• Plan executive board meetings; business meetings with informative guest speakers
• Involvement with Community Events:
-Business sponsorships for Dinner Bell North
- Co-sponsor the “Bike Helmet Safety Program” with Fryeburg Police
- Fundraising for The Community Giving Tree
- Co-sponsor the summer Concerts in the Park; developed advertising brochure
- Hoisting/retrieval and replacement of Town Flags: Memorial Day through July 4th
