The Fryeburg Business Association
and local businesses of Fryeburg wish to invite you ALL to our 250th
Birthday Celebration and EXTRAVAGANZA this Saturday, August 24th!
It’s been a summer long effort to build the BIGGEST Party in years
for Fryeburg and you won’t want to miss it. Pack up the car and
come to Fryeburg for a great day of FREE fun and activities and help
us celebrate being the oldest town in Oxford County!.
The day starts at 9AM at the fire
station on Main Street with the Lee and Joan Day Annual Car Show.
While there walk across the street to the Library for their “walk
through history” Open House also starting at 9AM. Be sure to visit
the Good Beer Store at 285 Main Street for their Allagash Brewfest
Bash starting at noon and join them in a grillin’, brewin’,
tastin’ good time with raffles and give-a-ways. The heart of the
event starts at 1PM at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds where WMWV 93.5FM
radio will be broadcasting live.
Parking will be across the street
from the Main gate and also at the Swan’s Falls entrance of the
grounds. The festivities will center around the grand stand and race
track area with lots of merchants and crafts to shop at, tons of
raffles and give-a-ways, and a full day of events, demonstrations,
competitions, games, displays, and children’s activities. Home
Depot will have a big tent with building and painting projects for
kids and there will be face painting too!
And thanks to the National Guard and
Fryeburg Rec there will be an inflatable obstacle course to challenge
the kids with fun and activity. Fryeburg Fish and Game will have a
shooting range for you to try your hand at target practicing. Take a
ride around the fairgrounds on the Fryeburg Historical Society’s
trolley car or try dunkin a local at the Dunk Tank. Raffles, silent
auctions and give-a-ways will be going on all day long as well. Maybe
you can win a nice BBQ grill, some gift certificates, or even a
corvette car! Tailgate with your friends and family or treat yourself
to some great foods on sale like burgers, hot dogs, kettlecorn,
fries, ice cream, and more. Scheduled activities throughout the day
include the radio remote from noon to 3PM, free diabetes testing by
