OPINION: Impeach Obama Protesters in Fryeburg by Mike Corthell

FRYEBURG, Maine - Aaron Yule, his brother Damien Yule, members of the LaRouchPac and a woman who didn't want her name published protest near the post office, peacefully on Saturday August 10, 2013.

This is a quote from the 'founding father' of the group LaRouchPAC, the above protesters represented today in Fryeburg:

   The woman on the right wouldn't give this reporter her name as she asked me, ''Are you from the government?'' I said, ''No, I'm just doing a story on your protest.'' - even though technically I am. (Vice-Chair of the Fryeburg planning board.) But I assume that she meant an FBI Special Agent or some other federal agent. I asked her if she thought she was on a 'list' somewhere. She thought she was.

   I asked Aaron pictured on the far left if they wanted President Obama impeached and convicted? He said, ''Absolutely.'' He went on to explain that many people in the federal government were guilty of war crimes and he wanted the 'whole nest convicted'. I said what about Nixon and the Watergate affair? He stated that Bengahzi is a much bigger scandal than the Watergate break-in. Do you want Vice-President Biden as President? Silence. Maybe these young men haven't quite thought this through.

   Aaron's brother Damien spoke about Nixon's Vice-President, Spiro Agnew resigning due to corruption in his home state and Congressman Ford becoming vice-president and eventually becoming president. I told them both, ''Did you know that Congressman Ford was a member of the Warren Commission that investigated John F. Kennedy's assassination?'' Again silence.


   I didn't need to go further with the interview but I left them with this, ''There are many conspiracy theories. All it takes is two or more people to decide on an action plan. It's politics gentlemen and there is blame on every side of the political spectrum.'' 


   Was Nixon a crook? Did Gerry Ford get rewarded for keeping the truth to himself? Are U.F.O.'s parking on the dark side of the moon? Is President Obama a communist Muslim in Christian clothing? I can't say but one thing I can say is, ''Ain't it entertaining?' 


   But, America is a very, very strong country because of all of us and I don't see 'us' going off the world stage any time soon.

 
As President Lincoln said so eloquently at Gettysburg, ''...from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion—that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain—that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom—and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.''
