NORTH CONWAY, New Hampshire - Freedom, New Hampshire resident Maynard Thomson was the guest on Valley Forum today. His education: MPA Kennedy School at Harvard, BA, JD. His experience: Chairman Carroll County Republican Committee, Assistant Attorney General in Ohio, attorney. He ran for New Hampshire House of Representatives in 2012 but was defeated in the general election.
Maynard spoke to the question of how can government best educate our children and also how to best support the economically disadvantage. Other topics ranged from the aging demographic in New Hampshire, its impact on our tourist driven industries to the need to both keep talented people in our region and attract young, affluent families to the Mt. Washington Valley. He also discussed geo-politics in the 21st century, China, The United Nations, socialist Europe and America's role in the global economy. His favorite historical figure? Abraham Lincoln. You will be interested in hearing about what he thinks of our current chief executive. His favorite movie? You'll never guess and I won't say - you'll just have to watch.
