Second Maine PUC commissioner recuses himself from review of water agreement

FRYEBURG — A proposed long-term lease agreement and contract for bulk water sales between Fryeburg Water Company and Nestle Waters of North America may literally be dead in the water for at least the foreseeable future after a second Maine Public Utilities Commission commissioner has recused himself from the three-person panel.

In a three-page procedural order issued by the Maine PUC on Oct. 15, chairman Thomas L. Welch announced he needed to recuse himself from the proceedings.
