Fryeburg Historical Society Open. The Col. Samuel Osgood  House, the new home of the Fryeburg Historical Society, is open for guided tours, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesdays and Saturdays through Christmas.  Groups are asked to call ahead for an appointment at 697-3484.
Holiday Craft Fair. There will be a holiday craft fair at South Hiram Elementary in Hiram, Maine from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be raffles, crafters, bake sale and kids room.
Free Youth Clinic. The Conway Boxing Club and Gym will hold a free youth clinic on boxing, self-defense, anti-bullying and personal safety at 10 a.m. at the boxing club and gym, located at Willow Common Plaza, 1857 White Mountain Highway in North Conway. Huggins Hospital Aid Sale. Huggins Hospital Aid will hold a fund-raiser sale at the collection center barn on Route 109A in Wolfeboro (first road after town garages) 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Items include books holiday decorations, skis, furniture, lamps, toys, 1800s sleigh with slags suitable for hotel or building lobby. Contradance And Potluck Dinner. There will be a contradance and potluck dinner, 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Tin Mountain Nature Center, at 1245 Bald Hill Road in Albany. Music will be by String Equinox, featuring Beverly Woods and Shana Aisenberg, with Eric Rollnick calling. Freedom Village Store Silent Auction. The Freedom Village Store's silent auction will be held at 6 p.m. in the Freedom Town Hall. More than 40 items are to be auctioned, including: 100 gallons of heating oil, a one night stay with breakfast at a local bed and breakfast, a weekend stay in Newburyport, a flat screen TV, a Deb Williams chair, telescope, a progressive dinner for eight, an authentic Mexican dinner for six, art work by Peg Scully, Gary Hekner and Willy Fromm; gift certificates to area restaurants, hair salons, massage therapist, car inspections; items such as gun cabinet, gun case, jewelry, braided rug, baskets, plates, pottery and more. There will be a live auction as well as a silent one. Tickets for the event are $25 and are for sale at the Freedom Village Store which is open seven days a week, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Fryeburg Area Rotary's Bountiful Harvest And Food Festival. The Fryeburg Area Rotary Club will hold it's eighth annual Bountiful Harvest and Food Festival on Saturday, Nov. 16 at the new Fryeburg Fair Expo Center from 5:30 to 9 p.m. This year the dinner will be like a "Taste of the Valley" with 20 of the Valley Originals providing signature entree dishes. It is bound to be an "epicurean delight." During the food festival we will have background musical entertainment by Mary Bastoni and "The Joker's Wild. Strings for Food. North Conway Music Center in North Conway is offering free guitar restringing with food donation of at least four cans of food or two pounds of dry goods. Even the strings are free, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information call 356-3562.
Snowflake Fair. The Snowflake Fair at Lovell UCC will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., with luncheon, crafts, raffles and more.
Novelist Jessie Crockett At White Birch Books. White Birch Books will host New Hampshire novelist Jessie Crockett, author of "Drizzled to Death starting at 2 p.m. Crockett will be serving up stories from her latest mystery, accented by maple syrup from the 100 Acre Wood. Fundraiser Auction for Hernandez Family. Abigail Hernandez has been missing since Wednesday afternoon Oct. 9, 2013 when she left Kennett High School at the end of the school day. The Conway Auction Hall (former Bill's Place,one mile south of the Kancamagus Highway on Route 16, is offering their services to hold a fundraiser auction for the Hernandez family at 10 a.m. They are asking any and all business and community members to donate goods or services for this event. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Hernandez family. Let's all pull together as a community and help bring this young girl home. Tin Mountain Breakfast and Forestry Tour. Tin Mountain staff, trustees, and volunteers have elected to raise funds their college scholarship fund by cooking a benefit breakfast. A $10 donation is suggested. Breakfast will be served on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Tin Mountain Nature Center on Bald Hill Road in Albany. The hearty breakfast will include pancakes (with real maple syrup, of course), eggs, sausage, muffins, fruit, toast, yogurt/granola, juice, coffee, milk, tea, and hot chocolate. At 8:30 a.m. departing from the Tin Mountain Nature Learning Center, Tin Mountain Executive Director and forest ecologist Michael Cline will lead a trip to Tin Mountain's Bear Paw Timberlands in Conway to discuss sustainable forest management being practiced on these lands. Mountainfilm On Tour. The Omni Mount Washington Resort will host Mountainfilm Festival, Nov. 15 and 16. Mountainfilm on Tour is dedicated to educating, inspiring and motivating audiences about issues that matter. The films selected for the show will explore themes connected to Mountainfilm's mission of exploring cultures, preserving environments and promoting adventure. Bob Holdsworth of the Appalachian Mountain Club will introduce the Evening Showcases on Friday and Saturday, culminating with engaging dialogue with the audience following the films. Natalia Shevchuk Concert. Natalia Shevchuk will play at the Lutheran Church of the Nativity located at the corner of Grove Street and Main Street in North Conway at 7 p.m. This recital will include Italian Concerto by Johann Sebastian Bach, Second Sonata by Sergei Prokofiev, Arabesque and Symphonic Etudes by Robert Schumann. 'The Magic Roller Coaster.' Arts in Motion Theater Company is presenting a whirlwind tour of musical history with its original production of "The Magic Roller Coaster" at 7 p.m. at the historic Eastern Slope Inn Playhouse. Christmas Cupboard Craft Sale. The Fryeburg New Church at 12 Oxford Street Fryeburg will hold its annual Christmas Cupboard Craft Sale, 9 a.m.-noon. There will be homemade crafts, wreaths and baked goods for sale. There will also be items such as organic coffee, tea, hot chocolate, chocolate bars, and jewelry from Equal Exchange for sale as our church winter fundraiser. Open Barn. Human Horse Balance, owned by Peter and Paula Lambie will be holding an open barn, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the barn at 281 Odell Hill Road in Center Conway. The event will be open to the public and will include a tour of the facility, including an indoor training arena, outdoor arena and round pen as well as horse demonstrations. Paula Lambie is an expert rider/trainer with CHA (Certified Horse Association) certification and a masters degree in integrated horsemanship and integrated riding instruction. Adult Learner Study Group. If you are 18 years or older and have wanted to earn your GED, now is the time. There will be a free adult learner study group meeting by appointment on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon at Carroll Academy at 11 Runnell's Hall in Chocorua, NH (across from the Chocorua Library). North Conway Model Railroad Club Open House. North Conway Model Railroad Club holds a public open house every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from May to Oct. 18 between 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the club's operating HO layout located in the Freight House at Conway Scenic Railroad's yard in North Conway.  The club’s 500 square-foot layout features selectively compressed replicas ofConway Scenic Railroad’s North Conway station and yard, Frankenstein trestle and Crawford’s station in Crawford Notch.Other features include a logging railroad, a large paper mill complex, a granite quarry, and a seaport city with a large steamship tied up at a pier.Mainline operations are conducted over a full length upper level loop and a shorter lower level loop.  Additional trains are operated over a logging branch, a trolley line and a special section of track devoted to Thomas the Tank Engine. As many as seven trains operate concurrently.   All operations are conducted by an all-volunteer crew.Admission is free but donations are gladly accepted.

Join Four Your Paws Only on Route 16 in North Conway every Saturday morning for puppy or dog socialization and playtime from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Beginning at 10:30 a.m. is Tiny Tots, 11 a.m. to noon is pups and quiet dogs, noon to 1 p.m. is larger more energetic dogs. The event is open to the public; dogs must be up to date on vaccines and on a leash. Conway Contra Dance. Conway contra dance is held in Tin Mountain Conservation Center's hall on Bald Hill Road in Albany. There will be a potluck supper at 6:30 p.m., followed by the dance starting promptly at 7:30 p.m. and running through 9:30 p.m. All dances are taught. Music will be provided for this dance by Puckerbrush, with Eric Rollnick calling. Dances will be scheduled third Saturdays of the month, September through May.
