Interfaith Hospice Memorial Services. The Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice will hold its annual Interfaith Hospice Memorial Service, at 3 p.m. at the Pinckney Boat House on the Brewster Academy campus in Wolfeboro, to celebrate the memory of loved ones who have died this past year, both those who died in hospice care and those from the wider community. Members of the staff will share in leading the service, which will include music and a time of remembrance. Children are welcome. A reception follows the services to give us an opportunity to visit. To reach the boat house, you need to be on Route 28, just south of downtown Wolfeboro. At the main sign for Brewster Academy, turn toward the lake on Academy Drive. Lovell Veterans Day Event. The Lovell Historical Society will hold a special event in honor of the local veterans from 1 to 4 p.m. at the 1839 Kimball-Stanford House on the corner of Route 5 and Old Stage Road. The museum will be used to show many photos, artifacts and document dealing with the wars of the United States. The society hopes to have veterans honored at this occasion for their service to their country. Mount Washington Valley Arts Association Annual Meeting. Mount Washington Valley Arts Association's annual meeting is at Downstairs Gallery at 16 Norcross Place in North Conway at 1 p.m. It will be an important meeting with information about our Capital Campaign for a new arts center. This will be followed by a program presented by Timm Triplett, associate professor of philosophy at the University of New Hampshire. He will have visual displays of various color phenomena and will discuss his topic, "The Philosopher and the Rainbow: Why Philosophers are fascinated with Colors and Color Perception," which he will gear toward artists and photographers who use color every day. Refreshments will be served. The association requires at least 10 percent of the membership to be present for a quorum so members are encouraged to mark their calendars and to plan to attend.
Mountain Top Music Concert. Mountain Top Music teachers Chris Nourse, violin and viola, and Ellen Schwindt, piano, perform Sonatas by Mozart, Cage, Finzi and Schwindt at the Tamworth Congregational Church at 4 p.m. This concert is free and open to the public; donations to support Mountain Top Music, the local community music school, are always welcomed.

'Seussical the Musical.' Fryeburg Academy presents "Seussical the Musical" at 2 p.m. in the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center in Fryeburg, Maine. Fee Free Day In National Forest. The U.S. Forest Service is waiving fees at most of its day-use recreation sites over the Veterans Day holiday weekend, Nov. 9. Day use fees will be waived across the White Mountain National Forest, however fees will remain in effect for overnight camping, cabin rentals, permits, reservations, and activities offered by concessionaires. Battle of the Bowls Chili Challenge. The Sixth Annual Battle of the Bowls chili challenge will be held on Sunday, Nov. 10,noon-2 p.m. at the Center Lovell Fire House. White Mountain Art Exhibit. The Museum of White Mountain Art at Jackson presents its inaugural exhibition "The Road to Jackson: a Journey through the White Mountains of New Hampshire." The exhibition features 44 nineteenth century paintings of artists of the White Mountain School of Art from private collections. The museum is open Saturdays and Sundays 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and other days by chance or appointment. The museum is in Jackson's historic Town Hall, which also houses exhibits illustrating the history of Jackson.

The Little White Church in Eaton will be open to the public every third Sunday of the month at 5 p.m. Pianist and composer Dana Cunningham will be leading what she describes as an emergent, present-moment-directed hour of music both sung and instrumental, as well as poetry, silence, and the spoken word.
