Tamworth Community Nurse Association Holiday Gala.The Tamworth Community Nurse Association hosts its annual Holiday Gala benefit dinner at Chequers Villa in Tamworth. All are invited to come share in this much-loved community event, which will begin at 6 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, followed by a scrumptious buffet dinner featuring roast beef, haddock and pasta entrees, plus side dishes galore and, of course, dessert! Guests will also enjoy the music of pianist Becky VerPlanck as they dine. Tickets for the Holiday Gala are $55 per person, and can be purchased by calling the TCNA office at 323-8511. 
Fischer/Swix Fit Night.  Jackson Ski Touring Foundation is hosting a fit night, 4-8 p.m., for anyone interested in purchasing cross country ski equipment. Experts from Fischer, Swix and Gorham Bike and Ski will go through sizing up your needs for the best ski and size. Free Waxing Demonstration For Cross-Country Skis.Jackson Ski Touring Foundation hosts a free waxing demonstration every Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Sessions take place in the touring center and are hands on. Participants will learn how to maintain waxless and waxable skis, classic and skate. Jackson Ski Touring Foundation also offers a free wax room to skiers. 'It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play.Arts in Motion Theater Company, at the Eastern Slope Inn Playhouse on Main Street in North Conway Village looks forward to sharing the holiday season with the community as they bring a favorite Christmas story to the stage with "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" by Joe Landry at 7 p.m. Inspired by the classic American film by Frank Capra, the show is performed as a 1940s live radio broadcast in front of a studio audience. "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" is directed by Barbara Spofford and features the talents of local actors Julianne Brosnan, Jason Cicero, Teresa Dyer, Tom Ferent, David Freedman, Terry Juell French, Dennis Sullivan and Abigail Leonard. Food Safety Training. UNH Cooperative Extension will be presenting a free, two-hour program on safe food handling, 9-11 a.m. at Berlin High School. This training opportunity is for food managers and handlers in restaurants, ski areas, and schools. The workshop will be presented by Extension Field Specialist, Ann Hamilton. Huggins Hospital Aid Sale. Huggins Hospital Aid will hold a fund-raiser sale at the collection center barn on Route 109A in Wolfeboro (first road after town garages) 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Items include books, holiday decorations, skis, furniture, lamps, toys, 1800s sleigh with slags. 'A Delicate Balance' Auditions. M&D Productions is holding auditions for its first Main Stage production of its 14th season, Edward Albee's "A Delicate Balance" at 6 p.m. "A Delicate Balance," to be directed by M&D's artistic director, Ken Martin, will have nine performances at Your Theatre, located at 1857 White Mountain Highway in North Conway, from Jan. 16 to Feb. 1, Thursday through Saturday, at 7:30 p.m. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Potluck Dinner and Dancing. American Legion Riders Chapter 46 is presenting a potluck dinner and dancing with the Echo Tones from 5 to 7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall Post 46 at 47 Tasker Hill Road in Conway. Bring an unwrapped toy for the toy donations box. This event is open to the public. The cost is a $8 donation. All proceeds for the event will go to Christmas for Kids.
