Carroll County Coalition for Public Health Meeting. The Carroll County Coalition for Public Health is looking to form a regional public health advisory council to help protect and promote the overal health of communities in Carroll County. The coalition will hold a community meeting 11 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Tri-County Community Action Program building at 448 White Mountain Highway in Tamworth. The coalition hopes to have participation from each municipality in Carroll County, including government and elected officials, representatives from school districts and education interests, businesses, health and medical professions, law enforcement and safety, and community-based supports and social services. Presentation On Core Sampling And Rising Phosphorus Levels In Ossipee Lake. Results of core sampling conducted on Lower Danforth Pond of Ossipee Lake in Freedom last winter will be presented at the Freedom Town Library from 7 to 8 p.m., The public is invited to hear Plymouth State University researcher Lisa Doner and student Michael Garcia describe their core sampling project, present phosphorous data from the 1840s, and discuss both natural and man-made events that result in phosphorous loading. Blood Pressure Clinic. The Central New Hampshire VNA and Hospice will hold a blood pressure clinic, 11 a.m.-noon, at Ossipee Concerned Citizens, 3 Dore Street, in Ossipee.
'It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play.' Arts in Motion Theater Company, at the Eastern Slope Inn Playhouse on Main Street in North Conway Village looks forward to sharing the holiday season with the community as they bring a favorite Christmas story to the stage with "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" by Joe Landry at 7 p.m. Inspired by the classic American film by Frank Capra, the show is performed as a 1940s live radio broadcast in front of a studio audience. "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" is directed by Barbara Spofford and features the talents of local actors Julianne Brosnan, Jason Cicero, Teresa Dyer, Tom Ferent, David Freedman, Terry Juell French, Dennis Sullivan and Abigail Leonard. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, $10 for children under 12. Tickets can be purchased online at www.artsinmotiontheater.com, at the door or reserved by calling 356-0110.
Bird Identification Workshop. Tin Mountain nature workshop on resident bird identification with Sean Ashe from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Tin Mountain nature and a field trip on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. through 1 p.m. Participants can take part in both or either.  This workshop is timed in preparation of the upcoming winter season, and annual Tin Mountain Christmas bird count. The cost for both workshops is $10 for members, $15 for non-members. Tin Mountain Conservation Center will be carrying out the 25th annual North Conway Christmas bird count on Saturday, Dec. 28. Teen Advisory Board Meeting. The Conway Public Library at 3:30 p.m. is the monthly meeting of the Teen Advisory Board. Plan projects, special guest programs, purchases for the young adult section of the library and enjoy great snacks while you are brainstorming. For details call 447-5552.
North Conway Library's Book Group. The North Conway Library's Book Group will be discussing "The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry" by Rachel Joyce at 10:30 a.m. at the library. This is an open book discussion. Everyone is welcome, whether or not you are a library member. The Library Book Group reads both fiction and nonfiction and meets on the first Thursday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at the library in North Conway Village.
