Fryeburg Historical Society Open. The Col. Samuel Osgood House, the new home of the Fryeburg Historical Society, is open for guided tours, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesdays and Saturdays through Christmas. Groups are asked to call ahead for an appointment at 697-3484.
The Mount Washington Valley Housing Coalition Benefit.There will be a fund-raising event for The Mount Washington Valley Housing Coalition at the Flatbread Company, in North Conway. There will be raffle tickets and a portion of the money from each purchase sold will be donated to the organization. Auction items will include a sport club membership at the Eastern Slope Inn Resort, entrance for four to the Kahuna Laguna Water Park at the Red Jacket Mountain View Resort, a $50 gift certificate to the Flatbread Company, and a two-night stay for four at the Eastern Slope Inn or Attitash Mountain Village, a Starbucks gift bag, and a $15 gift card for the Toy Chest. There will also be a 50/50 raffle with half of the money collected from this raffle going to the winner. The Mount Washington Valley Housing Coalition is a local non-profit organization, which believes that affordable housing has a direct impact on the economic strength of the Mount Washington Valley, affecting both those who need it as well as broadly effecting business expansion. Christmas Can Cure Concluding Event. The Christmas Can Cure Concluding Event, a flag lowering ceremony, takes place at 10 a.m. in front of the Jackson Town Offices. Each veteran will take home one flag and mail it next December to one of the wounded warriors selected for 2014 Christmas Can Cure.
Jackson Library Adult Book Group. The Jackson Public Library Adult Book Group will meet at 4:30 p.m. to discuss the Agatha Christie novel "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd," a Hercule Poirot mystery. There are copies available at the library.
Friends of the Conway Public Library Meeting. The Friends of the Conway Public Library will meet at 4:30 p.m. in the library. This meeting will be held before the 6:30 p.m. performance of A Capella Gold.
Chamber After Hours. Mount Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce and Arts In Motion Theater Company holds Chamber After Hours, 5-7 p.m. at The Eastern Slope Inn Playhouse on Main Street in North Conway Village. Refreshments from Flatbread Company, Sap House Meadery, J Town Deli, The Arts in Motion Board of Directors, Lindt Chocolate Shop. There will be live entertainment, networking, 50/50 raffle, door prizes and more.
The Friends of the Conway Public Library Holiday Program. A Cappella Gold will be presenting a concert of Christmas songs at the Conway Public Library on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 6:30 pm. The program ranges from familiar songs like “The Little Drummer Boy” and not-so-familiar settings of English and German Christmas carols to an African spiritual and an irreverent offering by PDQ Bach. Knowing that everyone wants to sing at Christmas time, there will be several opportunities for the audience to sing along on familiar Christmas carols. All ages are invited and refreshments will be served.
