Fisher/Tubbs/Swix Free Demo Day at Jackson Ski Touring Foundation. Try out the latest and greatest equipment from back country to racing at the Fisher/Tubbs/Swix Free Demo Day, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Jackson Ski Touring Foundation. Fischer will have a range of skis and boots, Swix will have demo poles and waxing advice, and Tubbs will have snowshoe options. Collegiate Invitational Criterium at Jackson Ski Touring Foundation. Some of the best Eastern collegiate skiers are competing at Jackson XC as part of the EISA competitive schedule. More than 12 schools will compete on Jackson's FIS Homologated International Race Course. Races start at 10 a.m. This is a great spectators' event with high speed action! Coaches and Alumni 1.5 km Fun Race At Jackson Ski Touring Foundation. Jackson Ski Touring Foundation will hold a 1.5 km fun race for coaches and alumni with "no bibs and no whining"--just for giggles! Two Hour Instructional Nature Tour on Snowshoes with Expert Guide. Jackson Ski Touring Foundation guides will show you places along the trails and off the system that most people would never get to find. This is a fun and interesting tour led by snowshoeing experts who will also give technique tips along the way. Pre-registration suggested. Tour price $10. Brownfield Bog Cross Country Ski. Explore the winter landscape of the Brownfield Bog searching for signs of otter, moose, coyotes, and other wildlife 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Participants must bring their own skis and lunch. Krafty Kids. 
Krafty Kids meets at the Effingham Public Library at 10:30 a.m., and features craft activities suitable for children through grade 6. All children are welcome, but younger children may require parental assistance with some of the craft activities. Free and open to the public. Penny Sale. Ossipee Main Street Program will hold a penny sale, 2-4 p.m. at Ossipee Town Hall. Refreshments will be served. Donations and volunteers welcome. Snow date is Jan. 12 at noon. Call (603) 539-7200 for more information.

Da Capo in Concert. The singing group Da Capo will present "Season of Love," a concert of songs to warm your heart at 7 p.m. at the Salyards Performing Arts Center, Conway. Donations of $20 per family or $10 per person are suggested. Call (603) 662-6415 for more information.

Dance Workshops. Theater artist/ dancer/choreographer Lida Winfield will conduct "Swimming Lessons," a dance workshop from 9 a.m. to noon for experienced dancers in high school and older at the Jeanne Limmer Dance Studio at Eastern Slope Plaza, North Conway. Winfield will lead exercises to help experienced dancers engage in and share their own narratives. Workshop fee: $25. A second workshop, "Stomping Stories," will be conducted 2-3:30 p.m. for ages 12 and up. Dance experience is not required. Workshop fee: $15. Carol Ramsay Trio. The Carol Ramsay Trio of Wolfeboro will perform at 4 p.m. at the Wakefield Opera House. The trio is comprised of Carolyn Ramsay, Chuck Farrell and Al Hospers. Their music encompasses an eclectic variety of musical styles ranging from folk to rock, country and jazz standards and features rich vocal harmonies accompanied by the group's unique song arrangements.
