Conway Transfer Station Allegedly Turns Away Trash Collected for Valley Pride Day

(Valley Pride photo)
Valley Pride Day's Facebook Page listed this post alleging  that Conway's transfer station refused to accept trash from the community clean up effort. The posting speaks for itself.

''Hey folks - I just heard from my Conway driver that the Conway Transfer Station would not accept Valley Pride Trash this year. Did anyone else have an issue with their town transfer Stations. This is pretty sad when a town refuses to help the tax paying community when they are willing to work this hard to pick up all this trash and making our Valley a clean wonderful place to live. What is wrong with them? If this is true (and I will get to the bottom of it) than I think their lack of community spirit, support, and gratitude is outrages and the Conway municipality should hang their heads in shame. Please weigh in.
Thanks''

However, for this most part, as it is every year the effort was a resounding success.

''Valley Pride Day was great again this year (16th Annual). So many people came out to help and tons of trash was picked up off our streets. Thank you to all the businesses that donated to the event, Hampton Inn and Marriot for all their hard work for our BBQ celebration, my community leaders that headed the efforts in 28 communities, and all the volunteers. Sadly dozens of needles were found along our roadways that only punctuates the growing heroin and drug problems we have in our Valley. And perhaps the most surprising thing found was this law enforcement badge on East Conway Road which was turned into the police department. Now why would a badge be lying out on the side of the road? Anyways, it was a very interesting and successful day and worth every moment of effort and labor. Thank you one and all!''

    1. WTF, do they sift through our bags? Guess I should begin shredding provate things like mail. Is this Nazi the older guy with glasses? If so, he is a big time jerk. I had a run in with him over a microwave. I put the microwave in the metal box by accident. I got over by the office, he came waltzing over, carrying it. Threw it in the electronic box and began hollering. It was a mistake, just tell me and let me correct it.

  2. I have been asked to start picking up household trash in Conway by a bunch of Conway residents and I refuse to do so and we recycle on our truck!!! But the people at the Conway transfer are ridiculous to deal with... I mean to be honest the DUMP NAZI is there the only reason he is still there is because the town deemed him the sheriff of cap and gave him forbidden powers.. the funny part is they make everyone separate stuff and then they mix it all together again ..

  3. I call BS on this. The town's transfer station crew does a great job and i know neither the town manager nor town engineer would ever direct them not to accept trash from a clean up day.

  4. Sounds like someone hit a nerve? There are better ways of asking the people who pay your salary to do what is asked of them, yelling at them should never be acceptable! A ticket book is the best way of yelling at someone. If you park in a red zone in the city does the meterperson yell at you? Nope they just ticket you. Respecting the hand that feeds you should always be number one after all people respond much better with kindness than anger..
