What Will Be The Legacy of Donald J. Trump?

Free Press MEDIA - It really depends on what happens over the course of the next few weeks, and months — the progress of the many ongoing investigations, the continuation of his legislative failures and political agenda, and a possible nuclear conflict in the Middle East or Korea. Currently (10-31-2017) Trump is regarded by many as just an unhinged clown. He is an evil human being.

''I think the debasement of our nation will be what he’ll be remembered most for, and that’s regretful.''   -- Senator Bob Corker

But, in my opinion, excepting the possible world war scenario, Trump will likely be remembered as a unhinged narcissist similar to Republican Senator Joseph McCarthy, who was an unstable demagogue who didn't understand the difference (or even care) between truth and fiction. McCarthy held the nation spellbound for a few years by grabbing headlines.  He made increasingly wild accusations about America being infiltrated by Communists.

He attacked prominent people and accused the Democratic Party treason. President Truman once said McCarthy was the best asset the Soviet Union had. Gradually his own party abandoned him as did the sitting president, and in time the media turned against him followed by the public. He was irreparably damaged during the Army-McCarthy hearings.

Most in America don't back or even like President Trump. If his legacy were to be written today it would be a dismal and down right despicable tale. Hopefully coming events won't make him the last President of the United States of America.
